The level 0 Smart Card should be used where it is not necessary to use a level 1 or greater Smart Card (The level 0 Smart Card allows the additional feature options to be enabled on a Controller without increasing the Controllers default operating level. Level 0 Smart Cards can easily be upgraded to any higher level if required.)
Hardware Smart Cards are employed in Integriti Controllers (ISC/IAC) as a means of setting the Controller’s “Operating Level” dimensions and/or enabling various additional hardware feature’s and integration options.
Increasing a controllers operating level or enabling additional hardware features can be done at anytime, either via the system Keypad or over-the-wire via Integriti software.
The SMART card system uses license key’s to set the controllers operating level and enable optional hardware features.
It is important to remember that users are global (unlike local entities, such as doors, zones events, etc). Therefore, where a system has two or more controllers, each controller on that system must be fitted with a Smart Card at the required level to accommodate the total number of users in the system.
Hardware Smart Cards are employed by Integriti Controllers as a means of enabling various additional hardware feature options. A Smart Card must be fitted to the Controller as a placeholder to store the license keys required to activate the additional feature options below.
Where a Controller already has a Smart Card fitted, additional feature options can be applied at any time. The Smart Card does not need to be physically replaced, a license is simply applied through the Integriti software, or locally via the keypad.
